About Us

Allow us to answer your most burning questions about Radio Free Connecticut.

  • I love the look of your station, but....isn't this illegal?

In the form of broadcasting that we are using, no.  Radio Free Connecticut transmits at 102.1 MHz, using a small "Part 15" transmitter.  According to the FCC, as long as you keep your power output compliant with "Part 15" standards, a station like ours needs no license.  Listen with confidence!

  • How much power does your station transmit with?

Radio Free Connecticut transmits over the regular airwaves, with a power output of less than one watt (compare that with 107.9, which transmits with about twenty thousand watts).  Our frequency of 102.1 MHz is unused in our area, so we don't interfere with anybody.

  • Where can I receive your signal?
